Comment: Less number of clicks required to start the on-line survey

Definitely! We have now changed this so that it should only take one click to get to the front page of the survey. The only time this would be different is if a respondent has been invited to complete multiple surveys in which case they would still get a drop down box to choose which survey they want to complete.

Comment: I find access easy but a number of our respondents didn't. It seems anyone not on broadband or slightly technology illiterate really struggles./We had a few glitches with participants and respondents unable to access the survey. However all was OK in the end/There were a few problems with people being sent the email & accessing the link but this could have been at our end rather than JRA

If at any stage people in your organisation are finding it difficult to access the survey, please contact us straight away so that we can try and identify the problem. We have made one change recently so that when someone clicks on the survey link they are taken directly to the questionnaire (previously there were a few clicks involved in getting there). Hopefully this simplifies things a little.

Comment: Would be useful to include a formal test phase and an outline of JRA minimum IT requirements

We do always try to ensure that each client we work with has been provided with our minimum IT requirements. This should be given to you before you start your survey process and we also recommend that you do test the survey beforehand. Check out our minimum requirements at: www.jra.co.nz/forum/topic36/thread87.aspx

Comment: Changing the direction of the rating scale

Agree! This has now been done. Our standard Employee Survey now has the rating scale from Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree

Comment: Having more flexibility in the way we can format our additional questions

Yes - we are starting on the process of improving the flexibility of our qestionnaire in 2008

Comment: "I know where this organisation is going and how we are going to get there" - a couple of people have raised the point that this is actually two questions

Each year we review our questionnaire to make improvements. We will be reviewing the questionnaire at the beginning of next year so we shall take your feedback on board.

Comment: Two out of the seven in our team accidently hit the wrong demographic for our team. I'm thinking this must be quite easy to do?

There is always a chance that somebody may choose the wrong demographic from the list box. The only thing we can do to ensure this is avoided is make the team descriptions as accurate as possible so that people are clear about which team they should be selecting.

Comment: Only issue with translated versions of hard copy survey with some errors.

In New Zealand we rely on an external Translation Centre to translate our surveys in to foreign languages. Once it is translated it is very hard for us to check the accuracy of the translation (unfortunately we at JRA have very limited foreign language abilities!). What we now incorporate in to our process, is time for a second person to check over the translation to ensure its accuracy. Where possible, this second person is from our client organisation as this also ensures the correct translation for any organisation specific terms.

Comment: Site does not seem totally reliable. Had a few comments people had to refresh a few times to get into it, and my first attempt at completing the survey the site 'broke' halfway through, saying the page could not be displayed and I lost my responses.

That doesn't sound good. Any issues like this would be great if you can report them to us straight away so that we can identify the cause of the problem. We haven't had any widespread issues like this raised with us so I am not sure why this would have happened in your case. If it happens again, let us know.
