Microsoft recently released the latest version of its internet browser software – Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7). Depending on your organisation’s Network Administrators, you may have this new software automatically installed on your computer any time from now onwards. If you are copying graphs or tables from our online reports within IE 7, you will notice you are continually prompted about clipboard access. This is a security feature inherent to the browser and beyond our control. However, if your security permissions allow it, you are able to avoid this annoyance by following these steps: - Start IE7
- Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options"
- Click on the "Security" tab
- Click on the "Internet" icon (a picture of the Earth)
- Click the "Custom Level" button.
- You should then have a long list of settings that can be changed. Near the bottom of this list is the heading "Scripting", and the second setting under this heading is for "Allow programmatic clipboard access". Click to "Enable" this feature, then click on "OK".
- You should then get a warning box asking if you're sure you want to change this setting - click on "Yes".
